GoNoGo Weather ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is involved when you use the site and how it's handled. We've written it in plain language.

Your location

When you tap "use my location", your browser asks your permission and, if you agree, provides your approximate coordinates. We use those coordinates only to request the local weather forecast. When you search by city name instead, that text is sent to our weather data provider to look up coordinates. In both cases, your last-used location may be saved locally in your browser (see cookies below) so the site remembers it on your next visit. We do not link your location to your identity, and we do not sell it.

Weather data provider

Forecasts and place-name lookups are provided by Open-Meteo. When the site fetches a forecast, the coordinates or search term are sent to their servers so they can return the data. Please refer to Open-Meteo's own terms for how they handle requests.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your most recent location so you don't have to re-enter it. This stays on your device. If we display advertising or use analytics (see below), those services may set their own cookies.

Advertising

To keep the site free, we may display advertising, including via Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can learn more about how Google uses data at this page. Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we present a consent choice before non-essential cookies are set.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to gear are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer, not us, processes any purchase and handles your payment and personal details under their own privacy policy.

Analytics

We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (such as which tools are popular). This helps us decide which activities to build next. Any such analytics is configured to avoid collecting personally identifying information wherever possible.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can decline the location permission and search by city instead; you can clear your browser's local storage to remove your saved location; and you can opt out of personalised ads via the links above. Because we don't hold accounts, there's no profile on our side to delete.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date above will reflect any change.
